Reporting in on Dorian!

So far so good! About once an hour we get a heavy downpour and the winds pick up. Weather report just said that winds will increase to 25-30 mph with heavier gusts through the night and into tomorrow. As soon as the rain and wind die down the sun comes out for a bit and things go back to 'normal' September weather. Though you can't see it from the pictures the trees seem to be tilting and as soon as the wind stops they stand straight! It looks like Dorian will go north of us but we will get the heavy bands of rain and wind from the outer bars which is what we are getting now from Dorian and it is still over the Bahamas where it is passing over very slowly causing a lot of crisis situations!

i jest pulled'p the latest info'n this hurricane. still a cat 4 parked o'er the bahama's. i sure feel fer those folks's they'd nowhere to go! seems y'all're gonna miss the hurricane, jest get some winds 'n rainfall. still, if'n y'all get lots 'f rain, 'tis gonna cause lots 'f damage. i'd the need to giggle a bit (though such's not funny actually) o'er the wind speeds there 't yer place currently. we call 25-30mph winds a "breezy day" 'round these parts.

But that's strong enough to break trees in half, throw patio furniture around, etc. We had a beautiful, calm, blue sky tonight and a good old South Florida sunset!!

For this reason, I didn't give Dorian my address and number. We had sun and clouds and still people buzzing about this and that but you know I don't give a hoot. The Lord is with me and I know this will just blow over eventually. I just hate my friend's husband stepping on my last nerve. I say I know, I know it will be all right and he says just want to be sure and around we go in a loop again.

Glad to hear you're doing well. My family is in West Palm Beach, so I keep getting updates from them. Their reports are similar to yours....heavy rains and winds for a brief period, then sunny skies. Believe it or not, it's been that way up here in Gainesville too, just not as much. We get five minutes of brief rains and breezy conditions, then it becomes sunny again.

I hope you’re in a relatively safe location and don’t have to evacuate.

I have never left during all the 12 hurricanes I've been through.
