Adopted Brendel Eight Years Ago

After losing Momma Kitty in 2011, I did not plan on getting another cat. MK was Dustin's cat, and it was very hard losing her. A few months later, on September 3rd, 2011, I saw Brendel up for adoption and when I saw her face, she drew me in and I had to have her. She was declawed and her time was almost up at the shelter. That also helped make my decision. She came home with me. I literally saved her life. And I cannot imagine not having her. She has been so much moral support for me. You have no idea. Animals can be so therapeutic and help you get through things in life so much easily. Non-judgmental support is what they give. Photo snapped while she was relaxing in the screen room. Brendel is a lovely cat! She was given a second chance to have a loving, caring life, sharing a home with you! I've been judged because I'm crazy about animals. Kobe is my therapy dog, he gives me hope when I can't find any on my own. Non-judgement? He accepts me any way I act, look, or how I feel, exactly the same! I get a gentle kiss on my hand. Kobe's perception, I always deserve to be loved! Others don't understand, but that's their fault and not mine.

@CarolDM I always called our cat Mindy, 'Mama Kitty.' She mothered everything, felt that it was her duty to take care of everyone!

@CarolDM Our MK was 18 when I finally had her euthanized. She was suffering terribly and couldn't even stand up on her back legs, nor could she eat because most of her teeth were gone.

@NJChicaa Yes and he was really only a few days from being put down. Could not leave him. About two years after Brendel, adopted him. And he is like a big teddy bear. Would have more if I could.

@CarolDM I would too. My beloved Sandy suddenly passed away in May and I am still so sad about it. Unfortunately I was pushing it with 3 pets here (2 cats and a parrot) when I am only allowed 2 so I can't adopt another cat at this time.

so glad she opened yer heart 'n ya brought her home, ms. carol. she's such a beautiful cat 'n no doubt brings ya great comfort. i wish i'd still mr. cisco, he 'twas my rock, my best friend. the hubs refused to bring him 'nto the house. dunno why? i'm certain i could'a taught that big fella to climb the back porch 'n not go crazy'n the livin' room (my beloved mustang, may he be runnin' fere'er 'pon grassy hills).

Thank you, her eyes are so pretty and green. I am thankful for her. She has had health issues and has chronic bronchitis, nothing they can do about it. She has coughing spells and it scares me sometimes but so far she seems ok.

@CarolDM I have a kitten which coughs and he takes antibiotics. Maybe he has the same illness. I was taking care of him, but if they all disappear it's too sad for me to continue to do this.

They are therapeutic. But it's very sad when we lose them. 2 weeks ago my favorite cat disappeared. Now I am thinking to not feed stray cats anymore. It was the mother of the kittens. I planned to spay her, but it's too late. Each time when I go in my yard I cry. I can't believe she is gone. One of her kittens is still here.
