The bow out! It’s one of those senses from Friends that is so real. It gets you thinking about relationships and how some times adults can be real selfish. In this sense Chandler now know that his girl friend Janis might possibly still be in love with her soon to be ex husband. She is in the middle of divorcing him. Her and her ex have a small child together. Joey has caught Chandler’s girl friend kissed her ex-husband.
Here is Chandler not sure what he should or shouldn’t do. He asked his best friend Joey. Joey answer him honestly saying if he was in the spot he would bow out. This women and this man have a baby together. He wouldn’t want to be that person that person that breaks a relationship but when it could possibly be on its way back to being fixed. He doesn’t want to stand in that way. Chandler’s girlfriend doesn’t know who she wants who she wants to be with. She loves both.
Chandler hearing his friend and understanding what Joey means. Chandler explains to his soon to be ex girlfriend that he hated that guy that guy that got between his parents. He doesn’t want to be that guy. He tells her go back to her husband see if things we really work out or not. As much as he wants to be selfish he can’t for this child sake.

Joey actually gave him good advice and Chandler heard it and decided to do the right thing.

He did and for Joey he said some pretty smart things for a character that isn’t that bright.
