The 4th is important to me

I met my now husband on April 4th, 2014 (our first date). We fully moved in together on February 4th, 2015. He proposed to me on October 4th, 2015. Since all these things happened on the 4th I wanted to get married on the 4th as well, hopefully some time in 2016. We could only get married on a Sunday so it was hard to find a month when the 4th was a Sunday and the weather was not too cold or too hot. One option was June 4th but I felt it would already be pretty hot. Plus, getting married in June would be more expensive because it's wedding peak season. Another option was September 4th. It was a Sunday as well but it was very close to the Jewish holidays. Also, September 4th was the date his parents got married and I did not want to share our date with them. The next option was December 4th. It was great for me because I am a December baby. However, I wanted an outdoor ceremony and that wasn't going to happen in December. Plus, parents were against it because it could potentially snow and that would make the commute for the guests difficult. Much to my disappointment and not wanting to do it, I parted with the 4th and chose to have my wedding on November 6th because my mom (who was paying half for the wedding) told me to have the wedding in 2016. She was against pushing it to 2017. Not only did I not get married on the 4th but I didn't get an outdoor ceremony either. Yeah, it was a little chilly maybe but it wasn't very cold. We could have had an outdoor ceremony. I also didn't get to take all the pictures I wanted. And not everything went smoothly or the way I wanted it to go. But it was still a great day.

It is! We used to celebrate every month on the 4th, now we don't.

I'm sorry your wedding didn't go as you had planned. We had a tiny wedding; and the biggest mistake we made was not hiring a photographer.

Yeah that was a bad decision. I hired one and don't have a wedding album. The one I wanted would cost us $1K. Hubby didn't want to order the album but I don't think it was because of the price. It was because he didn't get to take pics with everyone and wasn't thrilled about the pics in general. I thought they were good. Maybe I should just make an album myself on shutterfly or snapfish.

@lovebuglena Wow, pix are expensive these days; and they shouldn't be because they take digital photos! You should put together an album. That's a good idea.

@LindaOHio We paid $3500 for a wedding photographer. And $3500 for videographer. We had 2 each.

The number 4 is also special to me because it is the date of my birthday. My birthday is American Independence Day. I wish to have my birthday in the USA one day however can't as it is in term time.

Sounds like a very special number. Many renew their vows, you could do that outside with a photographer on the 4th.

We've been married for only 34 months. Too early to renew...

@CarolDM People usually don't renew their vows till they've been married for a long time, so I've heard.

@lovebuglena Why? You can do it any time.
