A Very Nice Sunday Morning

Woke up early. The Dude makes sure I am up when he wants me up. The temps were nice out for a change. Had my coffee in the screen room. Saw two blue jays flying around the yard. That was very cool. I usually only see those in the winter.
The doves visited the bird bath. They had an early swim in the pool. Now I need to add more water. They are very big and usually drain the pool when they come. But I don't mind.
I thought summer was ending. But all next week, we will have hot temps in the 90s again with no rain. That means maybe the butterflies will hang around a little longer.
Snapped a photo back in the winter of the blue jays that visit. Have to setup my camera on a tripod and get these pics through the patio door.
They are such a pretty shade of blue. I don't see the mourning doves much lately. I miss their presence and soft sounds they make. I am sure they will return. The bluebirds come every day for a swim in the pool as well.
That is all for my backyard bird report today. I know many of you are bored about now, so I will get back to my bird watching.

oh, i ne'er tire 'f such! great pic 'f this sweet blue jay. i've not seen the pair here today? but've been most busy 'n prolly 've jest missed 'em. can hear 'em high'n the trees, 'long with the thrasher. maybe they're havin' a bit 'f a territorial tiff?
dark clouds hang all 'round here today, hope such's more fruitful than last eve. lots 'f lightin' to the east, jest winds here.
we've usually quite the population 'f grackles, yet those didn't come 'til a few weeks 'go. i get quite tickled with 'em, they've jest gotta wash those grasshoppers prior to their consumption. sadly i'd not seen 'em quickly 'nough 'n several 've perished'n the stock tanks. now i've floated some limbs to prevent such. 'xcept'n mr. rocky's tank - he's most keen to remove such. i rescued one from his tank jest this morn, found the limb 'bout 4 ft from the tank.

@CarolDM yer welcome :) 'tis most disheartenin' fer me to find any perished critters. i carry guilt'n these cases - where's i could'a prevented such if'n i'd checked sooner.
mr. whiskey 'tis doin' purty well. not likin' bein' doctored now. tries some purty evasive moves tryin' to 'void such. don't blame him coz such cannot be pleasant. i've been takin' him out fer walks (don't wish him out'n pasture 's he's liable to get too frisky'n open that wound back open) e'ery day i can. the other eve he 'twas a bit testy, wishin' to go fer a run. out'ta defiance (like a spoiled young'un...'r the hubs...), he grabbed a weed - that jest happened to be growin' 'mong a yucca. yup, he got his nose poked by such 'n then we'd a nose bleed. nothin' serious 'r requirin' doctorin'. reckon he learnt though coz been makin' wide berth 'f such since, lol.

@crazyhorseladycx I am glad he is healing. I can imagine it is a challenge to doctor a horse. Oh no, I wondered what was wrong with his nose. Always something to get into.

I never get bored with wildlife. Better than having a wild life. :-D Another perfect picture as usual.
