Oncology: The results are in

United States
September 10, 2019 1:40pm CST
I just got a call from the oncology nurse a little while ago. My blood work results are in. Tumor markers stable. Liver & kidney function normal. All other tests normal. Cholesterol & triglycerides the best in decades! Coral... For the win! (Note: Though the markers are stable and everything is good, I just want to remind everyone that with neuroendocrine tumors, also known as carcinoid cancer, there is no cure at this time. When the tumor markers are stable, it means that there is no activity that is detected for growth. And that is a good thing. I celebrate those little victories.)

Follicular lymphoma has no cure either. But I know that we will all die from the same illness: from being born. Congratulations, Wonder Woman!

@marguicha ain't that the truth! I have a friend of mine in California who's a year older than I am, and she told me that we need to find a younger man in Aruba! Lol I don't know why everybody is trying to set me up here!

Thank you, Lenore. I always get anxiety once scans and bloodwork are involved. When I get back from vacation, I have a scan to schedule.

@TheSojourner I know what you mean. In just under two weeks I am going to submit to some scans. Needle work? No. Scans I can just barely tolerate. I am so glad you are healthy.

@sallypup as healthy as I can be. Not looking forward to the scan when I get back, because they have such a hard time starting IVs on me. But we'll take one step at a time

Thank you, Vanny. :-) Now, after vacation, I'll schedule my scan before the end of the year. I'll breathe easier after those results come back. I have to get my flu shot and dental appointment before I leave for Aruba to meet @marguicha. Want my smile to be as bright as it can be. When I return, I have two replacement crowns to get, my wellness check and women's appointment for mammogram, and then the CT scan before the end of the year. I put so many things off that it all piles up and makes me more anxious. I have to stop doing that. LOL Hugs to you.

@TheSojourner You already have great smile. :) Don't worry. I was wondering if I / we (DJ and I) can upload some of your songs. We would love to Coral. Who knows you will become a Grammy winner and we will get famous too. This is an offer you should seriously think about.

@vandana7 Let me get through this year...and let's talk in 2020. Of course, we still have to get @TheHorse and I to meet. I don't want to do it all electronically through email and mp whatevers. I'm am a face-to-face girl. ;-)

That is good news and stay healthy as much as possible and I think those cancers will not bother you if you have that clean health bill. Just watch out that they are at times sneaky little things that just wait for the right opportune to spring back at you.

Yes, I believe that, as well. All we can do is the best we can. As long as I feel good and things are stable for now, I am happy. Thank you.

@TheSojourner Keep that right attitude also helps a lot with the healing process of the body. There are times that cancer comes from the negative thoughts we feed our cells that become cancer cells in the long run.
