Day 39 Promise 42 Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: 6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. Do you feel special? God told Moses to tell Israel they were special to Him and He would set them apart to Him as a treasure, but only if they obeyed Him and kept His covenant. Holy means set apart. He would set apart the nation of Israel from the rest of the people on earth and He would be their God. As Christians, you also are set apart to God. You also are priests of God. 1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: and he who believes on him shall not be confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Just as God set Israel apart for Himself, you are set apart to God as priests to give Him praise because He led you out of the darkness of sin when you were in bondage to Satan, and brought you to Himself, to the light of Jesus Christ. Because you are set apart, live your lives in the freedom He provided through the blood of His Son, Jesus. Let’s pray: Father, help me see myself as set apart to You. Help me give You praise for taking me out of bondage and setting me free from Satan’s grip on my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
