My dad brought home the new Aladdin yesterday for me. To say I was excited to see it was an understatement. My husband bought me the soundtrack when it came out and I have been in love with Speechless. Jasmine sings it in this new movie and it fits in so well. Part of me, as always, was scared of what they would do with my beloved classic but I wasn't disappointed. Will Smith made the Genie his own character. He didn't try to be Robin Williams and do what he did with the Genie. He made it his own and it worked for him. There were places and scenes that were kind of hokey but overall it was a really good movie. My husband has me watch the remakes first so I can pick them apart before we try to watch it together but this time I didn't pick at it too much. That is an amazing feat since I tore Beauty and the Beast apart when it came out. I would recommend this movie. Do remember though that everyone is different. Not everyone will like this movie and that's fine. It seems that some people need a reminder that not everyone likes the same things every now and then. *image from google*
