Snoring: My Hubby is the Snore Monster

Does your husband snore or men, do YOU snore? If you are like me and have laid in bed awake many nights waiting for the hubby to stop snoring or trying to move him into another position to stop the snoring, you can relate. My husband denied snoring for many years. He worked shift work when we first got married and often had overtime jobs after work involving security at pipeline companies. When he did make it home he crashed and was snoring within minutes. We all just laughed at his claim of "not snoring." Then one night our three girls all under the age of 8 at the time ended up in our bedroom crying. They were all in a panic with tears running down their faces. I asked what was wrong and the youngest, the twins who were around five at the time said there was a monster in the house. Our oldest child confirmed this as they had gotten her up first to see if she heard the monster too. I got up and went to look for the monster. They all told me the monster was loud and scary. We went into the oldest daughter's bedroom first. No monsters found or heard. Next to the twins' bedroom. We were turning around to go out when this gargling like sound came forth. They all pointed to the closet and said, "the monster is in there." I opened the closet and said, "Nope, nothing in here but I know where the monster is." I took them back to our bedroom and daddy was again in his deep sleep and snoring away. They were relieved to see no monster lived in our house or closet. This became a big joke within the family and to this date, we tease the girls about the monster in the closet. Anyone else have a good story to tell about snoring? Photo: Pixabay, public domain

I snore. Not gonna lie about that. When I was married, my wife hated it. My most recent girlfriend liked it, because she said it soothed her. I thought that was pretty interesting.

A soft snore is not too bad. You can get used to that and sleep through it. When you rattle the windows and such, it's time for a beating. lol. He has tried to say I snore as bad as he does. I just laughed and said that I "purr" compared to his snoring.

That's a great story. Vince snores and sometimes wakes himself up. I guess I do from time to time.

My husband and I both sleep in recliners now; so the snoring problem is solved.

I'm not sure I could do that all the time. I have after surgery but I like to sleep on my side(s) and stomach too. I'm constantly moving.

@kareng Unfortunately we didn't have a choice. I used to love sleeping on my left side under a big, comfy quilt. Mmmmmmm.

It must of not been that bad if they didn't wake you during the night complaining and all.

Are all the husbands snore the same? My husband snores loudly. I remember one day a train was in my dream and it woke me up. When I woke up, I found out that it was my husband's snores But actually I get used to it already. I am sleepy and I can easily fall asleep. His snores don't bother me very much.

I don't think all snore the same. I'm glad your hubby's snoring doesn't bother you.

I'm guilty. I have woken myself up snoring before. It's still not loud or should I say as loud like he does.

That's funny. My late ex snored. So did my dog, Pip. The first time I heard her snoring, I wasn't expecting it and laughed when I realized it was coming from her. Nothing I could do about Pip, but I did my best to stop him from snoring so I could sleep. My snoring woes ended the day we divorced. Until Pip became part of my household. I really miss her. She didn't snore as loud as my late ex did.

One of our mini dachshunds used to snore. It was cute. I think we just need to set up another bedroom here. LOL. I'll happily move to another bed to get silence at night.

I use a CPAP so I don't snore anymore but the hubby sure does. How funny your story is about your children and the monster.

I was just under getting one with the last sleep study I did. I hate those things and don't want to do another one for sure. I've had about four of them done.

I have been told I do when I am bone tired and out of it. Tony used to snore, I could hear him through the walls, when he quit smoking it stopped. My step brother snored so loud you could hear him outside of the house, for real!
