A couple of days ago I joined a website that I had not heard of before. It was some sort of book publishers website where they hold prize draws to win new books.
To enter the prize draw , I had to read a description of a book that they were advertising on the site, and then write about my first impressions of the book . I thought it sounded like a good story and I told them that, and I had to write other details about what I thought of the book cover.
I did not think that I stood a chance at winning the prize, but when I looked at my emails yesterday , I saw a message from the site saying that I had won the book and it would be posted to me soon.

Congratulations! I hope that the book lives up to your expectations. I wonder what kind of publisher they are. There are so many 'vanity publishers' about these days who don't really care about the quality of the work as long as the author pays them and they can sell a few copies. The idea of entering a draw for a book sounds interesting. It, presumably, gains them some free feedback on the popularity of a title and whether the cover and blurb is attractive enough to sell the book in shops.
Would you care to tell us the name of the site?

I think this site deals with books that have not yet been published so that they can get feedback on how popular the book will be , and to give it some publicity.
Would you be interested in joining this website? They have a referral scheme where you get points for friends who join it.

@lazydaizee Let's put the link here, then, in case anyone else is interested. I see that it's a UK site, so it may not be suitable for elsewhere in the World but it's worth a try:
Read and review brilliant new books for free before they’re published. Enter this week’s prize draw to win new books.

@owlwings Okay, thanks for the advice. I have just checked with the site about referring new members and it has to be done by email anyway, so I would not have been able to post it on myLot in the discussion area.
Anyway since you are interested , and I think you may enjoy the site , it is called Readers First.

I think so too, it is unusual for me to win anything. Although I did win a food hamper once.

It is a paperback that has not yet been published. I do not remember the title.
