Taking forever to install a balcony sliding door

My mom decided she finally wanted to replace the balcony sliding door. My parents went to Home Depot and ordered it. The sliding door was supposed to be installed in July I believe. When the guys came to install it one of the parts came in the wrong size and therefore the installation never happened. The correct size was ordered and was supposed to arrive within a week. That never happened. And then the guys that do the installation were all booked up so everything got postponed until this Friday. Today, the re-ordered part was supposed to come. Dad told me it should be delivered around 3 pm. It is after 6 pm and no one showed up. Without this part the installation cannot happen. Dad can't call the store because the lady that deals with it has left for the day. Meanwhile, I've been sitting at home unable to go anywhere waiting on this damn delivery that hasn't happened. I am tempted to leave the house but I bet as soon as I leave they will come.

Sounds like our gas company fiasco. Very annoying.

I needed to go to the store so I can get stuff to make dinner out of. I guess that is out of the question. Will have to see what I can make out of what we have.

@lovebuglena So no part and no Friday installation. Lowe's has been really reliable for us. I don't know about Home Depot.

@LindaOHio Installation is still on. No one called Dad or me that it is not happening. Maybe the guys will come with the part...

It's so frustrating when you can't get something done right the first time. I wish you (and your mom) the best of luck in getting the project completed.

This whole thing started mid-June. It's already mid-Sept almost.
