We Burned Out Yet Another Bread Maker

I don't know what we are doing wrong or we simply use it too much, but we did it again. This one had two spindles in the bottom and we thought for sure that this one would be a winner.
Not even close. I don't think it even lasted two years. So... we ordered one of those standing mixers with the spindle loopy thing for bread. Here's hoping that this one will be able to handle bread dough better than the bread mixers that can't seem to keep up with us.
How many of you make your own bread? Have you had the same problems as we have had over the years. If ours last more than two years, we are impressed.

I do have to admit that we do eat a lot of bread. I think I grew up on sandwiches. Really have to think about this ;)

Are you talking about the electric bread makers where you pour in the ingredients and the pan mixes it, then bakes it? Or are you talking about hand or stand mixers, then you bake the bread in an oven?

Yup... just dump the ingredients in, push and button and bake in the same pan!

I'e never made my own bread but it seems like a bread maker should last longer than yours did.

used to make bread quite a bit. gave my bread maker to the daughter 's she professed needin' one. i'd used 't fer 'bout 8yrs? dunno if'n 't still works coz i'm purty certain she's ne'er used such.
now that i cannot partake'n gluten, there's no kneadin' required. i do all by hand now. i hope yer new purchase suits yer needs 'n lasts a long time. they jest don't make schtuff to last more'n 6 months these days 't seems.

I have never made my own bread. Are there directions that can tell you about it?

It couldn't be easier. You just add the ingredients in the order given, press a button and it does everything including baking it.

I do not use my oven because the stove is very old and I can use the burners on top. I cannot afford to get a new one so if want a baked good I buy it.

Cookies are apparently the next thing on the list. DD has put in her request. The last thing I made was Danish Puff. It might be the last time because hubby ate the whole thing in two days!! Way too much butter and eggs to be healthy... but it was good!!!
