“Do You Believe in Magic” is a song that was recorded in 1965 by a group called The Lovin’ Spoonful. It was written by one of the members John Sebastian. The song was featured in the movies “The Parent Trap”, “American Pie”, “Date Movie”. “Temple Grandin”, and “Rolie Polie Olie”. The song became a hit again in 1978 when singer Shaun Cassidy recorded his version and it charted. Who remembers this song?

I'll take the original over Shaun Cassidy's version. I love the original.

I think that Shaun was just trying to follow in his step-brother's footsteps but just never made it @FourWalls

I love the Lovin' Spoonful and all of their songs. I posted "Summer in the City" during one of our hot spells; and that's another favorite of mine...and unfortunately still apropos.

I used to play it on the radio all the time. This version, not Shaun Cassidy. Thankfully.

I may not believe in magic but Doris Day singing "It's Magic" in her first film "Romance on the High Seas" made me believe in her and her magic!

There was something else I heard use this song that made it really popular. Maybe McDonald's?
