Rainy Monday...

When I woke up early this morning I could hear from my room that rains were heavily pouring down. My wife was expecting the Mayor to suspend classes but there was no announcement made by the City Mayors despite the heavy downpour. So sadly, my wife went to school to do her duty as a teacher. The whole day was really wet day as I never saw the sun shone today and it is gray all over the place. I reported for work and was watching over if the Mayors were firm by not suspending the classes only 3 mayors did declare suspension of classes in the afternoon session. I guess they learned their lesson before declaring suspension because the weather forecast says it will rain heavily but the whole day there was no rain in sight. So they technically wasted when there was not a single drop of rain came. This time it is heavily raining but the mayors did not follow the weather forecast that it will be rainy the whole day. Kind of funny for them that weather is not cooperating with their decision.

We're experienced it too. Is it a miscommunication and miscoordination.

Well I think we have not honed to predict weather accurately yet. The forecasters can only predict that much and any time weather can easily change cluelessly. Today’s Tuesday and most of the mayors have declared suspension of classes.

@Nakitakona The funny thing about their declarations today is that the weather suddenly turned good today and the sun showed up. It's like mother nature is making fun of the declaration of suspension of classes.

here the same thing happens too many times that when weather forecast report its heavy rain at that time its not heavy or not even rain sometimes. while heavy rain big people have also facing problem so what children will face as they not aware from what happen so its better to suspense classes but may mayor think that there will rain stop at sometimes which not happened.

In here it happened several times that they declare and nothing happened. So now they did not declare that rain was nonstop the whole day and they did not budge to declare suspension. I know many parents will complain that they should have suspended classes at least to grade school and high school.

@rsa101 yes parents worried for their children and they are also angry too because so many people will be stuck in heavy rain so they want their children back to home as soon as possible.

Just awhile ago it rained here though it didn't took long. But we are expecting rainy days again as Kim Atienza in his forecast that due to low pressure area the northern luzon will be a rainy day.

Rainy day feels so good *when you're just staying at home* but when you have to go somewhere it's really not a good day well, I hope there will be no flood to happen. Stay Safe!

That’s true. As I travelled back home tonight there’s no flood in my way. I am glad there’s none.

Who are these Mayors? I guess they don't commute no wonder they don't understand the problem of their Citizens.

I think they are just waiting for their neighbors to declare and does not really know the situation in their locality. Most Metro Manila Mayors are like these they just wait for QC to declare then one by one they would follow what QC does.

If you’re just staying home that would’ve been a fine day to stay in bed and enjoy to cool weather. But if you are working its a lot of hassle for you.

Yeah today Tuesday is still raining heavily. The mayors have declared at 6am to suspend classes. I think it’s just right since the rain looks like it’s gonna stay the whole day again. Just would like to add that looks like mother nature made a joke with them that the Sun suddenly appeared and weather just looked okay and fine for today. Now Mayors cannot withdraw their official statement on suspension of classes anymore.

@crazyhorseladycx looks like it. Yesterday it was really rainy but they resisted declaring and now that they did the rain just stopped pouring like it was yesterday. The sun even shined brightly today.

As I say weather forecasting is really a big gamble. I think with the latest technology to monitor the weather. Forecasters still has a hard time accurately pinpointing where the rains will come and go. They still have the hard time predicting its movement.

@amitkokiladitya I think when it comes to typhoon tracking I think they are good at predicting their path but when monsoons rains come they are quite hard since they move randomly than a typhoon is.

There were times maybe that the weather forecast is not that accurate. But, I think that it's not reasonable on the part of the mayor not to suspend classes even if the reasons are apparent. I believe they can assess the situation and if it is uncertain, then having to wait more hours before to declare is too long with all those heavy downpour of rains.

Yeah I guess it’s just hard to predict the weather accurately. So it’s harder for the mayor to really follow on what they hear from weather forecasters. Today’s weather was telling accurate weather but they didn’t follow. In the past they immediately followed but weather didn’t go as foretold. It’s ironic but it happens.
