Drive ways

I drove home today and passed a van which said about new drive ways for properties. I was looking at the van when the man came out of the other property. I asked him if I could have a quote. They were so expensive I couldn't afford any one of them. £5000 for yellow gravel £7000 for tarmac £12000 for bricks. Do you have a drive way? If so what is it like?

My son's wheelchair needs a firm surface and it wouldn't go along a dirt track.

@shaggin Yes, I will check around for some other answers. Companies and their prices seem to vary a lot.

My goodness that is really expensive to get that done there Maxi. I do not have a driveway here it is just an alleyway a dirt one at that. But the guys who do the driveways here are mostly travelers of a type and do not charge all that much.

Oshy I like the sound of the travelers that do driveways. My driveway is made of concrete. It looks old and has some pieces that are broken. An alleyway of dirt would be hard with my disabled son's wheelchair.

@TiarasOceanView I am pleased that public transport is cheap where you live. The train station is a twenty minute walk away. A bus stops around the corner. My son's wheelchair works best on flat ground that isn't damaged.

@maximax8 Yes wish you had some there that would do it on the cheap but quality of course. Well Maxi yes that would be terrible for your sons wheelchair. I do not drive or rather do not have a car don't need one here as transport is so cheap and good. So it makes no difference to me the dirt alleyway.

Its look so expansive there as far as here i know price of bricks which is 6-10 INR per piece. Its approximately not a perfect figure.

Bricks are probably different costs. I like one with different colors. A concrete drive way seems to just be one color.

@birjudanak Yes, one color will hopefully look the best on my drive way.

These rate were according to what? If you come to India you will see we hardly have space for drive ways .

My bungalow has a drive way that goes from the road to my garage. Then I have my front door area and the route into my back garden past the garage. Yes, I have visited India and found it amazing.

@maximax8 The amount which was quoted was for depending upon the square feet area or how is it. What all location you have visited?

That sounds ridiculous. Periodically, I have people come around that want to give me a quote..but honestly, getting new driveway gravel or having it black topped is not something I am going to spend the money on now.

Yes Snowy, I was horrified with the prices. I am thinking of waiting until next year and getting some quotes for it. It isn't worth paying for at the moment. I would rather update my lounge with new furniture.
