Another good dive

So I was not active on here yesterday at all since my son and I went diving and spent the day just relaxing afterwards. We got to the dive place about 10 am and it was nice weather for it. Sunny and not to hot out. We ended up only making one long dive, that lasted 53 minutes under water. We seen quite a few bluegill and a few bass while we checked out a couple boats and a box truck that were under there. The water was a nice 74 F at about 20 feet deep. The deepest I went was 24 feet deep where the thermocline was and the temp dropped down to 65 F. Not wearing a hood or gloves it was a little chilly at that point. We might try and go one more time this season, but that all depends on the weather over the next couple weeks.

I am glad you enjoyed diving with your son, this is something I would never try, I have fear of deep water.

@LadyDuck LOL, yea, then I guess diving would not be for you. It's not for everyone that is for sure. I had a friend who was going to try it and found that she couldn't even get in the pool and go under water with the mask and snorkel. She was just really freaked out about the mask and trying to breath only through her mouth.

I have to admit the few times we have went to about 100 feet deep, it was a little scary.

It sounds cool, I would like to learn to scuba. Do you have your own equipment or do you rent?

Did you report the truck? There might be human remains in it. Glad you got to have a good visit with your son and make some new memories.

No there was nothing in the truck, it is a box truck, (think UPS truck) and we went in it. It's actually been in the water for a few years now.

@Bensen32 I just wondered. They find so many missing people in sunken cars.

@akalinus True, yea, this one is okay. We dive here often and it's all good never really find anything to exciting in there.

I think diving would make me claustrophobic if that makes sense. It does sound like a good hobby for the two of you, though.

yes some people say it does make them feel that way. your vision is limited by the mask and depending on how clear the water is too. We did go once in a lake that the visibility was so bad you could barely see your had when you stretched out your arm. We couldn't even see each other most of the time.

Glad you enjoyed the day with your son. That is something I wouldn't be able to do since I am not a good swimmer.

It's not for everyone but you don't have to be a great swimmer, just comfortable in the water and be a decent swimmer.

@Bensen32 I can imagine it would be - to see them in their own environment rather than just looking at them through glass.

@kobesbuddy Well you don't have to be a good swimmer, just comfortable in the water and well know how to stay afloat for 10 minutes in a pool.
