This laptop does military time. I guess I should say the operating system shows the time in military time. I'll have to get used to that. It is 6:40 PM here. I like the laptop because it feels a little lighter on my lap. It also responds to me better than my old one did. The operating system is something I'll have to get used to. I have to use the web browser app for kindle if I want to read, but I think I'll just use my old laptop for that. In fact, I'm reading a spy novel now (that I got free on the kindle best sellers list) and I think I'll get back to reading that. I might watch a movie before American Horror Story comes on, but I'm not sure. I haven't checked out The Roku Channel app very much, might see if there is something I'd like to watch on it. Dinner was delicious (Potato Gnocchi), and I think next time I'll use marinara sauce to simmer them in. Are you watching the Premiere of AHS tonight? What are you reading or watching?

Is the "military time" the system we use here in Europe? I love potato gnocchi, I often make them during the cooler months.

Yes. We call it military time, but I believe people in Europe refer to it as the 24 hour clock. This is the first time I've tried it. My family also seemed to love it so I will make it again another day.

@LadyDuck Only our military uses the 24 hour clock, and perhaps some other Government agencies. Everything else is in the 12 hour clock. Oh, I think I worked for two or three places in my youth that used the 24 hour clock when clocking in. I can recall a cash register using the same 24 hour system.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes all Europe refers to the 24 hours clock, it is so much more precise particularly when it comes to "12" and people are not precise, 12 is noon, 24 is midnight.

Not into AHS. Watching hummingbirds and a sunset.

I am sure you can switch the settings to get it out of military time. My new Roku tv allows a lot of free movies I just have been using Netflix the past week. Eventually I will see what's on the other free apps on the tv.

I like my roku. I got it a few weeks ago. I have several apps on it now but haven't fully explored every one of them.

@shaggin Before I got the Roku I was reading reviews that said that the controller may not pair well with the roku itself. However, I've not had any problems. Have you?

I've seen AHS on Netflix and I actually didn't like the feeling that it was giving me. I'm not really into horror stories. Actually AHS is not scary at all but I just don't like the feeling it gives me.

Each season is different. The season I am about to start is new, the first episode airing in a little under an hour. The show isn't for everyone, and I don't like every season either. Some seasons are creepier than others.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yeah I know because I have seen I think two seasons on Netflix.

@toniganzon Ah I see. I think the mildest season was either the first or second season. It was less creepy. This season (I watched the first episode) is going to be a lot like the movies Halloween and Friday the 13th, but of course with the twist that American Horror Story always brings to it.

I am wondering how you can get it off military time? I will be watching Big Brother tonight.

I don't know, but I'm honestly not too bothered. I can just get used to it. I sometimes get the hours mixed up but I'll figure it out. I haven't seen Big Brother in absolute years.

@CookieMonster46 Well that stinks. I honestly don't watch that kind of stuff anymore. The closest thing to "reality" that I watch now are the Gordon Ramsay shows, and those are somewhat staged.

We'll watch it tonight. I have no idea what you mean by military time ... that just looks normal to me!

Ah yes, I saw that it drops for you guys tonight. I liked the intro itself, but I feel as if it was slightly longer than the other intros. It might just be longer for this episode and they'll cut it back later. Also, the show went over by about 15 minutes so don't get up thinking it's over. Military time or 24 hour clock. Most of our digital devices show the time as 1-12. So we don't have a 13:00, we just have a 1:00 o'clock again.
