Looking Back

@rebelann1949 is looking back at past posts, and I find it amazing some of the things posted/commented on back then because I see how far I've come, and life has changed for the better or maybe worse, depending on the situation.
Some people commenting on the posts haven't been here in a very long time. My comment showed I had just broken my leg and lamented not losing weight. That was three years ago. My leg is no longer broken, and I've lost 41 pounds now with the loss of one more this week. Yes, my knees still have bad arthritis. There's nothing I can do about that without knee replacement surgery, but I'm seriously hoping now, it won't come to that.
It's fun to see where I've been. It's even more fun to see how far I've come. How about you? Are you seeing older posts and seeing where you were back then and what you were doing?
This picture should give you an idea just how far I've come. Thanks for reading.

@Fleura No, actually it wasn't. It took 9 months to put it on, and 20+ years to start getting it off. I gained it in my first year of college back in 1992. I have gained some since then, but not like I did in that first 9 months of college.

It is rich to look back and realize that we still are growing, changing and becoming better each and every day. I had forgotten that you broke your leg, you have been on a healthy lifestyle change for the better for a long time, losing weight, exercising and being very conscious of what you eat.

I broke both of them. Not at the same time. I broke my right ankle in 2010 or 2011. It was a week after the first Tall Ships Festival here. A week after the festival, I put my dog down, and the next day broke my ankle. That was a bad time. Then in September 2015, I broke my left leg below the knee and was in the nursing home for a month. In that time my mother passed away. That was also a bad time.
In 2017 I started the food program and haven't looked back. It's been a good two years.
Yes, we are always growing and changing and hopefully becoming better people.

@Juliaacv I've put two of them down. One right after the post I commented on about my broken leg which was in January of 2016. That one was very hard. Both of them were, but Pip was harder for me than Rascal. Maybe because I was ready when I had to put Rascal down. I know I couldn't stay in the room with him when they gave him the shot. I couldn't with Pip either, but I felt like a chicken and went back in the room and she was gone. It was so hard. I cried all the way home.

Yes, I can remember all that and you have definitely come a long way. Congratulations on your dramatic weight loss. You also moved during the past few years, haven't you?

@DeborahDiane Yes, it has. It's fun reading your posts. I haven't seen one about your artistic benches in the area lately.

Yes, it was. This was taken on my grandson's birthday in 2017 just a few months before I started the food program to lose weight.

That is a lot of change. You must have put in a lot of effort to reduce weight! And back then, three years ago, I was much less active here.

I think the first month on the food program was the hardest. Once I got used to eating healthy, it was no longer a huge challenge.

Yes, I do, and I just started walking again a week ago. It was hard to walk as I was out of breath in just a couple of steps. I've had a YWCA membership for three years and started on the food program to lose weight two years ago this past August. The days when I see that weight again are long gone.

I started on the Whole30 food program two years ago soon after that picture was taken. Today, I'm 41 pounds lighter and looking a lot slimmer than on that photo.
