It's the pits

The Arm Pits.
If you use or are planning to use deodorant that does not contain aluminium, than you are going to want to detox your armpits. The detoxification process helps rid the body of the excess aluminium and other chemicals that are absorbed through the armpit when you apply commercial deodorants that contain aluminium.
Well, I have a natural deodorant but it is not effective at the moment. I've known for awhile that I've needed to detox but either money or forgetfulness has caused me to not do so until now.
I'll receive the detoxification cream in a few days and hopefully it will work well for me.
If you have switched to natural (non aluminium) deodorants without detoxing your pits you might find that:
You have sores and bumps that come up on or around the pit area
The skin is itchy
You have trouble masking the scent of sweat from your pits.

So far I am using Tom's and it's working out for me.

Tom's didn't work for me. I am using the equate brand and it works a little better but I get the bumps and irritation and I am having to reapply too much.

@infatuatedbby Glad you aren't having to deal with irritation or bumps. I'm hoping I won't have to deal with it for much longer.

Thanks for the info, but I think I will stick to conventional deoderant. Hope your issue clears up!

Lucky you! I've been having trouble finding a brand of deodorant that will work for me. It either doesn't work at all or it irritates my skin.

@Torunn It could be. I'll have to look at the ingredients list later. I still have all but one of the deodorants I've tried.

@Torunn Thank You. I've gotten many suggestions from mylotters in a separate discussion I made a few weeks ago. One even said she uses milk of magnesia on her armpits.

I use coconut oil as a moisturizer in the summer. It helps a lot.

Try just drinking lemon and water that helps detox. I use Sunshine's Homestead deodorant Andria's product are all natural and they work great.

OOh, thank you! I should be drinking this as well. I used to drink lemon and water every morning but stopped doing that after awhile.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If you want to change it up, there are other things you can use some don't taste as good, sage, lemongrass, and chi are just a few.

I tried Native Deodorant and it didn't work at all I smelled terrible. It would have been good to know then how to detoxify my armpits before I had tried Native and thrown it away.

I read about detoxing your armpits from wellnessmama I think...
She does a lot of articles explaining things. I just went to etsy and bought the stuff already made. Helping a handmade / homemade business and getting what I want without having to make it so win win for me.
I've tried so many different brands, including some from etsy sellers.

This is hard for me to explain but I use to be a big user of underarm deodorant and cologne and I don't recall why but I stopped using both a few years ago and though I am a sweating guy, no one has ever said anything about a body odor from me--not friends, partners, strangers or anyone!
Does age make us odorless?? No, I know that is not true.

Maybe you just don't sweat as much as you used to, or your diet has changed. What we can affect the way we smell. I've also heard that people of Asian descent do not have to wear deodorant because their sweat glands are different..

This is not to brag but I never used deodorants. I have a secret weapon against armpit odor.

I've been using Suave baby powder scent, for a while. I've heard that corn starch works great, when applied to the underarms.

I think someone here told me that milk of magnesia also works well. I've never tried it, but I've also just remembered it.

@kobesbuddy I'm sure they found something to help stifle the odor. I think I'd take the stench of a 1000 underarms over the stench of manure though.
I'm thinking of how it used to be when horses were the mode of transportation. All the horse dung and the poor person whose job it was to clean it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum When my mother was growing up, they didn't have underarm deodorant. Those poor people, back then! lol
