Today, I got to spend some time with my 7 year old hiking with his Wolf Den Mates. If you don’t know remember or are new, my 7 year old is in the Boy Scouts so they have activities they can do to help earn badges or patches. He already has is Whistle which we are still waiting for when he completed his first 5 miles.
Today he completed another 3.5 miles. I believe he is working his way to the 10 miles as a Wolf. We meet up with some other Wolfs and Webelos to. All the boys did good a few whining here and there. My guy didn’t he was chatting a lot. Since his daddy had work tonight and work last night I got to go.

I sure miss those days when my relatives and myself would take a hike in the interior of Panama to visit my late grandmother and my late uncle and aunts.

This is a little bit different since it’s done in groups of the Den’s and we have like a trail leader.

I like that they have them wearing those bright shirts. Easier to be seen in case someone wanders off.
Chatting away is a good way to make time pass by. I bet he didn't even feel as if he'd walked as far as he did.

They had a choice between there scout uniforms and there scout shirts. Technically they have to wear them but some boys didn’t. I don’t have one of the pack shirts since I’m not a leader. As the boys get more experiences they get more camping and hiking gear for safety and rule one is never hike alone always go with another and carry your whistle if you get lost blow 3 times and stay put. Teach them about trail makers

Thank you! I told him as long as I could some to watch his brother and sister I would take him. I knew the 4 year old wouldn’t make it through a 3.5 mile hike and not knowing what trail we where taking I didn’t think he could handle it which I was spot on.

I like stories about family bonding. My father taught us almost everything for a boy to learn like hiking, camping, hunting and sports.

It was more for him less for me. If his dad could go he would have. I try to do mostly the Girl Scout stuff but some times I have to do both since there father works night shifts only. I now enough to get us through the hike and we go as groups.
