My days are so exciting lately you must be riveted to the screen waiting for another post . Hopefully you sense I am completely kidding. My posts lately must bore you to tears. Pretty much all I did was watch moves as usual since having to keep my foot elevated. “Lavender” was really good. “Paddleton” was good and made me cry. “6 balloons” was the only one I didn’t like. I started watching a limited series called “Unbelievable”. The first episode was weird, the second was okay. 3 and 4 were good and now I’m hooked! The one exciting thing was I received my reward of a $5 Amazon e-gift card from Pinecone Research. My son came home from school today and told me that he cried during the Pep Rally because it was so loud so they let him go to the office. There was another little girl in the office going through the same thing. Photo is my baby cuddling with me.

Soon you will be up and about..I realize your son has special needs..but crying because he is being over stimulated really isn't acceptable(He isn't in pre school)..if he needs a break from the Pep Rally he should be permitted to take 5.

@snowy22315 the pep rally is very loud music and cheering in the gym. I feel terrible for him that it bothers him so much that he is unable to hold back the tears. He isn't able to control what triggers him. A lot of autistic kids have the same issue with loud noises. Some will even scream so I'm thankful only the tears come out for him. Sometimes they will give autistic kids noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs. They did allow him to wait in the office until the pep rally was over. Taking 5 minutes to calm down would be okay but as soon as he was sent back in it would start all over. It's got to be really embarrassing crying in front of his classmates if he could stop the tears he would.

@snowy22315 hopefully the counselor and psychiatrist can help him learn ways to cope. My dad cries really easy and an ex of mine did to. I know my son hates crying in front of others.

@shaggin Working on regulating his emotions is important..because if he isn't able to the world is gonna chew him up and spit him out. Sorry to be blunt..but working on socially acceptable ways to express his feelings is important, and not just no way, he can't...he is probably capable of more than you think..

Your dog is so cute. Your posts are never boring. I am sorry that your son had this unpleasant experience, but it is good that they let him go to the office.

@LadyDuck aww I'm glad they aren't boring to you. I was hoping he would do better now that he is a few years older then when he used to have to go to these loud events at school. They used to just have me pick I him up but he sat in the office until it was over then came home on the bus. I guess that's improvement at least.

@shaggin I like to read about your food experiments and your family. I think that your son had an improvement and he is still improving. He needs a bit more time, little by little he will feel better and less stressed.

@DianneN my toes hurting today for some reason. Once I get the boot off and stitches out it’s probably going to be painful to walk on since there won’t be any padding around my toe. I’m really happy with the care he is getting at school.

@shaggin I hope your foot will not hurt once the stitches are out. Perhaps it will only be a bit tender. I’m glad you’re happy. He seems to be doing very well back in school and it’s awesome!

That's great you got a $5 Amazon gift card. It's always nice to see what others do with their days. I'm sorry your son was upset with the pep rally at school. Love the picture.

It should be noted that he can`t tolerate loud noises and he should automatic go straight there.

@andriaperry when he was in 3rd grade and in public school he would cry and they would take him to the office and call me to pick him up. This was his first time around anything like this since he has been back at public school. His wonderful homeroom/math teacher messaged me to let me know about the pep rally and asked what I wanted him to do. I told him we would just give it a try and see how it goes. I didn't want to pull him from it if he did happen to enjoy it now. I said if he gets upset to have him go to the office and if he gets too upset to call me and I'd get him.

@andriaperry I mentioned it to him before he went to school that he could go out to the office if the noise bothers him to much but he might have been to nervous to ask. I'm glad the teachers keep an eye on him for things they know might upset him.

That is funny you mention pinecone research I cashed out there for $50 and already got it. Sorry to hear your son did not like the pep rally but at least he got to go to the office and sit and there was a girl there to keep him company.

@Tina30219 wow $50 for a cash out is awesome. I'm glad he didn't have to sit there and cry that they let him leave the gym.

I watch a lot of DVRed things while I do my cross stitch, letter/story writing, etc. Recently I'm most hooked on a reality show called "American Pickers". It makes me think a lot about my Dad. Cute puppers !

@xstitcher I watched American Pickers a few times. Kinda neat to watch but not something I'd watch regularly. I enjoy movies mostly but I've watched pretty much all the ones I wanted to watch on Netflix so now I'm only shows.

@psanasangma nope I had surgery on my toe. It was a hammer toe so my pinky toe curls under the other one. They cut a bone out and took a oval shape of skin off the tie of my toe and stitched the skin tighter to straighten the toe out.
