The AC man is here, though from voice alone it sounds more like a kid.
I don't know as I am not wearing decent attire to have a look for myself. I'm holed up in my room but I was nice enough to put my fan outside my door for air to blow on them while they are working.
Ya'll cross your fingers for an easy and cheap fix!

Haven't heard anything in awhile so I don't know what the verdict is. Hoping it's not going to be too much of a hassle. The AC is about 44 years old though.

@NJChicaa Apparently a duct had fallen down. It had not been properly secured the last time someone was out here. That made the coolant freeze over, I think? Either way that had to thaw and it was good as new. Expensive but could have been worse.

Maybe he’s with his dad, learning?
Hopefully the repairs are reasonable!

That is what I thought but it was only the one guy. I got a peek at him and he was only a few years younger than me it looked. It could be that he has testosterone problems, I've known people whose voice can be a bit too high and it's because they don't have enough testosterone.

It can be expensive. It was $331 for us to get it fixed.

@JustBhem Yes it is. It could have been worse, but I am just glad that it wasn't.

Thank you. It is fixed now but was a little more expensive than we would have preferred.

We used to have a regular maintenance contract but no longer do. We've still had to have the HVAC people out here every year though. Mostly for the heating.

People seem so young the older we get. Could have been a young guy working.

I got a peak at him and he was young, but probably only a few years younger than myself.

Hope it's an easy fix and not something that needs to be replaced.

A duct had not been re-secured properly. Apparently it fell and I think caused the coolant to freeze. We now have AC again of which we are happy. The guy left at noon and it's now 7:30. The house is still cooling off but is only 4 degrees away from our preferred temp.
