I read that serious sleep deprivation can lead to permanent brain damage. It was pretty scary to find that out. I guess having that knowledge is helpful though, if for no other reason than to inspire/encourage people with sleep disorders to get the help needed to properly treat the conditions ASAP.

I only get 2-4 hours of sleep a night. I guess I should be worried?

@LindaOHio in the grand scheme that's a short time, but if you are having problems functioning then I'd say be concerned and get checked out

I find my night is often disturbed. I have a disabled son to care for and a daughter that is able to wake me up at anytime in the night. Last night she slept well and didn't wake me up. I can't think well if I am very tired. I am keen on traveling and sometimes flights get back very late in the night time. I hate arriving at 2 in the morning at Bristol Airport. There isn't a bus at that time so I have to use a taxi.

@maximax8 I can completely sympathize w/that. As far as thinking when tired goes, I don't think well when I am very tired either. If anyone could I'd be genuinely surprised to learn of them.

If it is true, and some people lack of sleep is heavier than others, I feel bad when I spend a bad night, in cabio I know others who do not affect them as much as I do, but what is true is that In both cases, lack of sleep is bad for your health.
