Once a Scout Is Always a Scout

All schools in the Philippines observe the month of October as the Scouting Month. I would be missing scouting activities which I used to join the scouting inspection team that visit all schools under the Division in our small city when I was still a school principal of elementary school. We observed how the torch parade was done and how the campfire was handled during the night. We picked at random a boy scout in a troop formation and asked him to execute scout hand salute and scout handshake. As a troop they gave us their best songs and yells. Particularly what I always wanted to see from the boy scouts is on how they make the different kinds of knot tying and perform the emergency first aid to a victim. Those were the memorable events or activities which I would be missing in the scouting movement. ---- image credits to the owner

It sounds like you enjoyed it a lot when you were a school principal.

I was once an Assistant Scout Master. Gee, I didn't know the scouting month now.

I think October is observed by all schools in the country as the national scouting month

I never was a boy scout---heck I don't even know if there was a troop in the Bronx in NYC--I am sure there was!
