The month is ending and I never thought I´d make my goal this month. Just before I took the plane to Aruba, this goal seemed impossible. I stayed 2 weeks basking in the sun, talking more than my share and having fun. Yet now, in spite of all the rest of the house chores ( the suitcase is upstairs and the Jack Daniels is well hidden), I have had time to do a bit of mylotting and my friends have interacted with me. So, after all, I will meet my goal. That is awesome because I managed to lose some money I shouldn´t at the casino. Fortunately, I bought a beautiful pair of earrings and a watch before gambling the rest of my money away. I have done some math and I need to earn-save-whatever $3,000 before I take a couple of weeks of vacations again. How much do you need for vacations from where you live? I will have to think about how to get them

@JustBhem Tomorrow I will go to the supermarket. There are so little things to eat here after being away for 2 weeks that I welcomed happily a very good lettuce and homemade mayo sandwich I made for dinner.

We don’t take vacations we did go camping from August 4th til after Labor Day and all we had to really have money for to get was ice and the food and gas to go home from camp which was not much because we was not camping far from home. I hope you figure out a way to earn this money before you go on your next vacation

That was a joke on me, really I have a timeshare and I have to pay maintenance. In Aruba I also had to pay for government fees. But if I invite friends, we split and it is not as expensive. I only paid for half of the lodgings this year and for my share of the food. So, after all, I don´t really need that much at all.

@Tina30219 It is much less. I just wanted to joke on a big amount as compared to what I get here I might need a little less than $1,000 for the plane, though. It would depend on where I go.

$3000 Canadian would be a good amount for a vacation.

How much we spend on vacation depends where we end up going and for how long. I'd say a few thousand for sure.

We haven't taken a vacation in a long time (except for a 3-day trip last year); but it's pretty expensive for the two of us.

I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation. I've never even been on vacation, so I don't know how much money it would take. To me, that's a luxury.

It is my only luxury. I don´t spend much money on clothes and I can make nice dishes with cheap ingredients.

It depends on the destination. I would usually say around £2000 which is around $2500

I don't worry about how much holidays cost. I rely on Vince to say 'No, we can't do that'. There is always enough in the kitty for an ice-cream here and there.

Things were different when my husband was alive. And then, I did not have the need to go out with him here. We liked to go to the cinema and to the theatre. And we had friends over even when he was ill.
