Preston, England
October 1, 2019 2:14pm CST
My interview for a post office sorting job was at 9.15 and two bus rides away so I had to be up at 7am, and set off in very cold weather. I had to take lot of ID, including photos I had to provide even though they also took photo of me with a digital camera - they could have jut taken more of those.. I had to print out the application form, (over 20 pages) even though they have already seen it electronically. I had to add my birth certificate, passport, proof of my address and bank account. Happily, they gave me the job and I start on the 18th-19th November. My job will be sorting mail ready for delivery - glad I won't be out delivering letters Arthur Chappell

I hope it works out for you. I'm glad you won't be out in the cold (is your winter the same as ours? Nov.-March) Love the Carpenters.

@arthurchappell Here in the States many are still dealing with temps in the 90s and wondering where fall is. Maybe they will go directly from summer to winter!

It is the same job you had the past two years if I remember well. I remember this old song, I liked it.

Congratulations on getting the job ! And that it isn't the one that entails going through streets and alleys.

Hope you enjoy this new job. It does seem it would be better to be indoors sorting rather than out in the weather delivering the mail.

Wow! Congrats! Actually I also wanted to try someday to work on post, sorting mails and delivering them, though I have very poor sense of direction.Just imagine, a postmistress got lost

Yes, around here the weather has been truly awful in the mornings. And at other times too, but mornings is when letters have to be delivered.
