Making Changes

I am ready to publish. That's the next step. However, I didn't push that button and won't until I've read through the manuscript one more time.
As you can see from the collage above, I made some changes and that is the full cover of the book. I went back to my cover maker and made some changes to the font and color for the title and name of the book. I absolutely love what I came up with. The green just makes that cover pop. I was also able to find the same font on KDP Direct under a different font name for the spine.
I had a lot of trouble getting the title to be one line on the spine, but when I landed on that font, it all worked together.
I thought KDP Direct was funny when it was doing the previewer to make certain everything was good and there wasn't anything more I needed to fix. I decided on the final preview to take it up on its suggestion and grabbed a cup of spicy pumpkin tea. I'm not a coffee drinker. I'm sipping it as I type this post.
One thing I found interesting was that in all my work yesterday to reformat the manuscript from what I had with CreateSpace, I needed to put it back so it would be inside the lines and nothing would be cut off.
So, it's ready to publish. All I need to do is click the button. I've priced the book at $17.95. I knew it wouldn't be an outrageous amount as my Ex-publisher was trying to tell me.
When I've read through the manuscript for the last time, I will also set up the Kindle version so they publish at the same time.
Other than that, I've also been to Social Services this morning. They sent me a paper copy for the six-month review. I knew there was something missing on the one I filled out last week online. So, that is turned in again, this time without the added bonus of a picture of Pikachu.
As for the weather, we broke last year's rain/snowmelt totals with 40.11 inches for the year so far. There was 38 point something inches for all of last year. We got 1.31 inches of rain yesterday and through the night with more on the way tonight into tomorrow morning. There is flooding, but thankfully, it isn't a lot. That could change with the added half-inch they're predicting.
That has been my day so far. How is your Wednesday? Thanks for reading.

congrats'n a beautiful cover, ms. valerie! that green does sure pop, so very proud 'f ya. does the kindle version require more modifications? i get most confused 'bout all this schtuff, the fear 'f self-publishin' most real.
glad ya got the kinks ironed out with social services. did'ja ask 'em if'n they 'njoyed yer pic? lol
our huge rain got's near caught'p fer the year thus far. would sure be nice if'n that schtuff 'twas a tad more spread out, but i reckon mother nature knows what she'd be doin'. sure hope y'all've not lots 'f floodin'. they'd opened a few roads back'p 'round these parts. we'd 'nother thunderboomer 'bout 1 this morn, though didn't last long. sprinkled whilst i 'twas feedin' critters 'n pullin' weeds. felt nice to be out'n 't. the pups not quite's impressed with such a gift. they found places to hide, lol.
i'm talkin' myself 'nto venturin' to town, 't least the edge 'f 't. gotta get some horse feed. hope they've somebody to load 't fer me. i've a time with those 50lb bags. been hopin' the sun'll come out some more'n dry the ground a bit so's i've not so far to haul 't. gonna need to wheelbarrow 't to the barn though. if'n ya stand fer e'en jest a few minutes, ya sink a bit. gettin' the truck 'n/out without damagin' the grasses 'd be 'mpossible.

@just4him yes ma'am, got lots more pulled this 'fternoon.
i hope ya do get that break, hon. seems 't jest gets more 'xpensive to live e'ery day. i dunno how they 'xpect folks to not need assistance with food these days if'n they've a family. ridiculous, the prices.
yer welcome. looks jest delicious :) great there'd be no need fer reformattin' fer kindle. that'd be a mess fer me anyhow, lol.
got the feed, no help'n the store, but a fella did put such'n the truck fer me. which 'tis a story all'n 'ts own. been quite the day!

@crazyhorseladycx I'm still waiting on Social Services. I should get a letter from them this month about the heat.
Thank you. I'll get it set up as soon as I publish the book. Which I'm hoping will be tomorrow. If not, it will be Thursday for sure, fingers crossed. It's reading well with minor fixes.
I'm glad you had help getting it into the truck.

I'm sure all that rain made it easy to pull those weeds. I'm glad you got what you needed. I hear ya about Mother Nature spreading it out more.
Nah, I just put it in the slot and headed back to the elevator before it disappeared on me. A quick in and out of Social Services. I am expecting another form in the mail from them this month for Energy Assistance unless they don't need it every year and will send me the info on how much they paid for winter. I can really use a break in my finances.
Thank you. I'm glad you like the cover. That green makes all the difference. I know people look at covers before they consider the back cover copy to decide whether to buy it or not. As for Kindle, I don't think there should be any further formating. It didn't need it for the other four books.
I hope you can get the horse feed and someone to load it for you. I couldn't lift 50# bags either.

Yes, this is the final cover for the book. No, it's not, but it's worth it.
I'm glad you're having a good day. I hope you can finish your stuff tomorrow.
