summer wrap up

Even though it still really feels like summer here in the south, I am wrapping up the summer. For our vacation this year we headed to Orange Beach, Alabama. This was our first time there and we did enjoy it tremendously. My kids think vacation is synonymous for beach, so it seems that is where we head every year. I do have to admit that I could sit and watch those waves for hours, and sometimes do.
Our temps have still been running about 95 here. I am so ready for those nice fall temps. I am afraid to say it out loud though, because I fear we will just head right into winter, not my favorite time of the year.
I have started some of my Christmas shopping in hopes of not having it creep up on me this year. My oldest daughter got her learners permit last week, it was a real tough one for me. I keep asking myself how we got here.
My little guy with the health issues (the twin) will be having eye surgery at the end of the month. If you are a praying person, I would love for you to add him to your prayers. If not, please just keep him in your thoughts. He has had a long hard road. I did not think it would bother me, but as it nears, I do find it on my mind a lot. It is a minor surgery. He has double vision and it will correct it for him.
I have lost 19 pounds since May, I have more to lose, but I feel better physically. I am still eating better, but can improve. I am still walking a lot, getting in 20,000 steps a day, trying to move it up to 22,000.
I hope you are all doing well.

@BelleStarr A little bit does go a long way. She has always been a walker and on blood pressure meds so I don't really understand what happened. We got the kids (except the little ones) fitbits for Christmas last year and the whole family has been working on getting their steps and trying to stay healthier.

Ha, I wish I could become one, just trying to be a lot healthier. Little guys eye did not go as well as we wanted. They over corrected and he has lost vision in one eye. We will see what happens next, I keep kicking myself for having them do it, but had I not he would have lost all the vision in that eye. He says he still see double though which is disappointing.

I love it here because it is summer 360 days of the year!
A hint--when you lose something you go looking for it which is why so many people put their weight back on---instead say you got rid of 19 pounds!! It is semantics but it helps!
