Would you like to be terrified?

I know that not everyone likes to read things that are terrifying. However, there are many more that just love this time of year for the sheer fact that it's spooky season and spooky stories come out. There is a story that I read several years ago that destroyed me. It absolutely ripped me into two. A friend of mine asked if I had read it (it had come out several years before) and when I said I had not she found me a link to read it. The story was so good that it was published. I was able to read it for free as it was still available on reddit at the time but I'm not sure if it is any longer. Besides, this author is so great I think he deserves the royalties that someone buying his book would give him. No, it's not a requirement to buy his book. It's just that I wanted to suggest it as his words were able to delve into the psyche and rip you into shreds. I read this whole thing in one sitting. *Trigger Warning* I dont' recall alot of the plot anymore but I do remember that it had some stalkerish like elements to it, so be forewarned.

Wow I do not read anymore not books, but if I were going to, this would be a good one to choose. Sounds truly riveting.

I don't actually remember much from it. My friend has a copy of the book and I need to either borrow it from her or buy one for myself (it's only ten dollars, I am just being cheap at the moment). What I do remember, and what I need to edit my discussion to reflect is that it can be a trigger to some.

@TiarasOceanView Better to be safe and put a warning than to be sorry when it causes someone pain.

I've always been attracted to the spooky stuff, it started off as a family tradition watching scary movies.

I would love to read that book by the sounds of it. I assume it's a work of fiction?

@ScribbledAdNauseum that will be neat especially for you if it gets turned into a movie. I just started a book by James Patterson called Mary Mary. I have three books of his on my shelf but haven't read any before.

@shaggin I have a few of his books but I haven't read them. I almost regret getting them because I am not sure if I will ever read them. I liked his style of reading and read up to book ten of the Women's Murder Club, however, it reminds me too much of the time in my life when I was married (his mother had the books and that's where I read them from). Might seem silly but yeah..

Yep, totally a work of fiction. Here's more on it. I didn't know it might become a movie, though that may have fallen through since the post (linked above) was made 7 years ago.

I used to be a bookworm but these days I am too busy to read And I am more of a romance reader.

I took a few months away from reading when I was in a relationship. I still read a little but not as much as I was used to doing. I love to read and romance is one of my favorite genres. However, I love the thrillers this time of year. You could listen to podcasts or audible books while on your way to work each day, that is if you wanted. Audible can be expensive in my opinion, however.

I am sensitive. I am already terrified without those scary books.

I grew up with family who loved watching scary movies and the such. There are still some that I have to not watch or stop reading, but I still enjoy a lot of horror. I can respect that it's not for everyone and some just get too scared or have been through their own horrors.

Will have to take a pass on this one, I have enough going on in my life. But I know others will enjoy it.

I like to read to escape, of course these types of books take on a whole new level of escapism. I'm itching to go to the bookstore again soon.
