Friday's Doctor Appointment

I had a doctor's appointment on Friday. This appointment was made about three months ago. I needed to find a new rheumatologist since mine retired. I had a good visit and was diagnosed with bursitis to go along with my arthritis, Fibro, and Sjogrens. That is not the news I wanted to hear, but I'll be dealing with it. I liked the doctor and I think she will be a good choice to stick with. She took her time talking with me and already had pulled my records from my previous doctor. The only thing I didn't like was that she talked kind of fast. I think that is just her personality though. And time will tell on that. Before I left she wrote up orders for me to go upstairs to the flu clinic to get my flu shot. I had called earlier this month and was told they were not in yet. At least I don't have to make another visit just to get my flu shot. It didn't hurt and hasn't bothered me. Today I find that my arm is a bit tender at the injection spot. I hope this wears off by tomorrow. Have you had your flu shot yet this year? Photo: Pixabay, public domain

That is a bit late but better than not at all. Flu is already hitting hard here in Louisiana.

@Hannihar I don't get out much. Lately it is just taking my mother or myself to the doctor. That isn't good if someone is in waiting room with the flu.

I'm glad you like the new doctor. I hope the bursitis goes away soon. I'm glad you didn't need to return for the flu shot. No, I can't have it.

I hope you don't get the flu! I think all the doctors were sending their patients upstairs to get flu shots if they had not had one yet. I had to wait about 30 minutes for mine.

@kareng No, this is just a nasty cold. I'm hoping it departs soon. It overstayed its welcome after only a few minutes and now it's three days.

I am glad that you had a good first impression of your new doctor. I hope she is wrong about bursitis.

I had the arthritis, Fibro and Sjogrens way before I took that and that is only 5 to 7 day treatments at a time. I've only had a couple of them when other antibiotics to not work.

Awesome. My hubby's mom never got it and spoofed at it. He tends to take her opinion and never gets it. He did get the flu one year and I managed to skirt it (had vaccine) and that still didn't change his mind. I think one more round ought to do it.

@andriaperry Yep, that is so miserable. I have a deviated septum too and that makes it even worse.

@kareng I hate being sick with congestion and not being able to breathe. I will take the shot anytime.

I have never taken a flu shot in my life and I don't remember when I had the flu at least not all the 20 odd years I lived in Latvia and not since I have been living here in Florida,

I started about 8 years ago getting it with the auto-immune conditions that I have. I haven't gotten the flu since I have been getting the vaccine. I missed last year because of a change in my insurance and it wasn't covered. I got lucky in not getting the flu.

With a diagnosis of issues ending in ITIS that means pain. Just like the ISIS in Syria, waheehee

It did not bother me at all Friday and Saturday. Sunday it was pretty tender and this morning it is still tender. It should be fine tomorrow, or at least I hope.

Good for you. I thought about that and will see if she is like that all the time. I wondered if she was rushed that day. Who knows.
