We subscribe to Sky Cinema and, yesterday afternoon, as it was pouring with rain and the sky was as black as your hat, I decided to settle down with a movie. As it happened, the premiere yesterday looked as if it might be interesting although I'd never actually heard of it - When Hands Touch.
I had a quick look to see what it was about and discovered it was a British film staring Christopher Eccleston (some of you may remember him as Dr Who just prior to David Tennant taking over the role).
If you love a sad second world war story than this is for you. It was about a mixed race German girl who couldn't be classed as an Aryan and yet her mother was. She formed a strong bond with a boy, a member of the Hitler Youth, and whose father was a Nazi. The girl was neither fish nor fowl and eventually was forced into a concentration camp which was run by her Aryan friend's father.
In case you want to see it, I won't tell you any more about it, but it's a very emotional movie which sort of ended in tragedy but then also had a happy ending.
I'm not sure if it's available worldwide but it's definitely worth a look.

It was just one of those films I thought I'd give a go on a wet Sunday afternoon. Didn't have great expectations but so glad I gave it a go. Think it's more of a girly movie than a man one!!
