I Hope I'm Wrong But ...

I was sitting in my lounge happily doing my daily surveys when I could hear the cattle from our meadow making a lot of noise so I put my laptop to one side and popped down the garden to see all the cattle following a Land Rover towards the entrance to the meadow. I'm not able to see the gateway out onto the main road but I just have a horrible feeling that these poor darlings were being led towards a truck to be taken for slaughter. I do hope I'm wrong. It's for this reason that I've given up meat and dairy. I can't bear the thought of them queuing up in a slaughterhouse with the smell of blood in their nostrils to await their brutal end. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Yes, been a vegan since January but was a vegetarian for some while before that. At least I can rest in the knowledge that I'm not contributing to their cruel treatment.

I can understand your feelings perfectly. I gave up meat and diary on same reason too. Cannot bear the feeling that I contribute to murder of innocent living being

Well it's now around 6 hours ago that I saw them follow the farmer and no sign of them. Just hope that if their spirits go to a nicer place they'll remember me.
