I fixed the vacuum cleaner.

I feel I earned day. I opened the vacuum cleaner and took our a bag and a filter full of dust. Leticia knew about the bag but she had no idea of the other filter.
She had cleaned what she knew while I was away, but the vacuum cleaner was still not working. And I wanted her to vacuum all the dove´s feathers that I still had in my room.
I took off everything that could be taken off and finally found the second filter. And after it had been cleaned, the vacuum was as good as new.
I am very happy although I spent almost al morning in that. My vacuum cleaner is over 25 years old, before the time when gadgets lasted a small while. Even the dust bag is made from a sturdy cloth that does not exist any longer.
I am very proud of myself.

Mine only had a dirty filter. Leticia didn´t know it had 2 filters.

@LadyDuck I must have done that 30 years ago. Or maybe my husband did it. But I don´t remember much of what happened then

@marguicha Mine also has 2 filters, but I checked the manual a few times before changing the bag, so now I remember.

That's great! It is very environmental My vacuum cleaner was bought in 1997 and it still works very well. The TV set was bought when we needed a new TV to watch London Olympics. The fridge, oven, washing machines also have worked for some years already. If they still work well, I have no plan to buy the new one.

My gas stove was bought in 1074. Once I asked the man who came to clean it whether I should buy a new one and he said that they did not make them as good now.

@shaggin Many big brands have sold their name to China and they now make it in China. They are not as good as they used to be. But America and Europe cannot compete with the Chinese prices.

My old gadgets are all in working order. The new ones have to be changed once in a while.
