Raccoons on the Roof

For quite some time now, in the middle of the night, we've been hearing a lot of noise on the roof. Some nights it's so loud I think that someone is on the deck and is going to break in!
But it's the raccoons! They can do a lot of damage to the roof; and they will sometimes get into an attic and wreak havoc! My husband has been opening the door and yelling "Raccoons, go away, raccoons!" and setting off little firecrackers; but they still come back. So, he finally put out a Have-a-Heart trap and captured his first one.
Last night he took him away from the house and released him in a spot where he would have water, etc. Hopefully he will catch and release the rest far from home.
Do you have raccoons on the roof?

That is not good they get into the attic. I am sorry they keep coming back. Thank heavens no raccoons.

It has been quiet on the roof since my husband released that one raccoon out of our area. Knock on wood!

No, but there are too many in the neighborhood though they have vanished since the coyotes have become a constant presence.

I've heard a lot of about the coyote problem in Los Angeles. They're quite bothersome and can be dangerous to pets, etc.

No, but I have an old VHS copy of Fiddler on the Roof. Is the music as good with the raccoons?
Seriously, one thing I don’t have around my house: trees. They’d have to get a ladder out to get up there!

I don't know if the music is better with raccoons; but they sure like our roof!

No but we regularly trap them if they get close to the chicken coops. An egg in the trap works well as bait.
