Day 67
Promise 96
Deuteronomy 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
16 According to all that thou desired of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.’
17 And the LORD said unto me, ‘They have well-spoken that which they have spoken.’
18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
How do you know when the person you follow is the real deal? So many people talk a good talk, but when it comes to fulfilling any of the promises they make, they fall way short. People call them double talkers or talking out of the side of their mouths.
God told Moses, He would send a person who would have His words, and everyone who listened to Him would be blessed, and those who didn’t listen to Him, God would deal with them.
The Prophet God spoke about is His Son, Jesus whom He sent to be the Messiah, the Savior, the Redeemer of mankind.
John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, “When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.” (KJV)
John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. (KJV)
John 14:10 Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father who dwells in me, he does the works.
John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which you gave me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that you did send me.
Jesus proved He was the Prophet God spoke to His people about when they were in the wilderness. As Christians, you know when you accepted and believed in Him, you have eternal life. You also know that everyone who rejects Him, the requirement God spoke of to His people, Israel, would be eternal separation from Him.
Have you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord? Have you trusted Him and believed Him? Is your faith founded on the Words He spoke? If you have, eternal life is yours. If you haven’t, eternal separation is your future. It’s your choice.
Let’s pray: Father, You have the Words of eternal life. Help me seek and search out Your life-giving Words so I might teach others to know You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
