Jay and I took a drive this afternoon, to view the trees in fall colors. We were about a week too early, they are just beginning to change in Northeastern Michigan. Coming back home, we were traveling on a main highway that runs south towards Tawas. A little girls, probably about 8 years old had crossed this highway, to get the mail. As we approached from the other direction, she darted back across the road, in front of a UPS truck! Had the driver been traveling a bit faster, he would have hit her Jay and I were shook up, just imagining this little girl might have been killed! Thank God, she didn't get hit Photo:NOT MINE, Borrowed from Pixabay

i can understand if it's a quiet residential area, but why would a parent order a child to do that if they live along the highway? of course, accidents can still happen in the suburbs, but the probably is much higher on the highway.
