I find I despise shopping

Shopping seems to make me grumpy. We went to Wal Mart tonight. Things that make me grumpy: They have rearranged and remodeled and bought new shelves and stacked things higher, etc. etc. and they STILL do not have the one item I came for. The people. The lots and lots of people, running into me, running in front of me. Did I say, "the people"? I saw lots of weird behavior this evening, by adults. I spend eight hours a day with young people with strange behaviors, not my idea of a relaxing evening. The cost. Everything costs more all of the time. Yet the value is not there, nor is the quality. The UGLY clothes. Each season they are uglier. For the record, I shopped other places last weekend. I was still grumpy. Maybe it is just me, a grumpy old lady.

Our Walmart is remodeling too. I dont like the changes at all. I am able to go during the day when it is not as crowded luckily.

I don't mind when things change around, but yes I hate all the people. My mom and grandma have started to go to the story early, like at 8am so they avoid all the people. During the summer my mom goes a lot earlier since she walks and she goes to the store at like 6am and no one is there and it is so nice.

Yes, that would be nice. 8 a.m. the kids are on their way to school and the moms and dads are either taking them or just getting dressed. I am 30 minutes to an hour from any wal mart and working full time. I am sunk.

@GardenGerty That is no fun. We are lucky that the grocery store is only a mile away so we can walk to and Walmart is 2 miles away so still able to walk to it when the weather is cool enough to allow that.

I was telling my husband that all of their clothes were ugly and he said GOOD you will not buy any.

@jstory07 It did stop me from impulse shopping. I think I like thrift shops better.

@sallypup That is true. I have a few pairs to wear when it is really cold outside.

@jstory07 For women just sweat pants. Who wants to wear sweat pants all the time and every where??

I fully agree with you, each season the clothing are uglier. I checked a clothing store two days ago and I found nothing worth buying. I will recycle things that I have put in the cedar trunk years ago.

Around here many women are wearing what looks like lingerie over their leggings. I do not mind that too much, but the colors and prints are awful. I also know I would not feel good in a floaty loose top over everything.

@GardenGerty There are too many things that I do not like at all. I am pretty sure that I am going to buy nothing this year.

I get super crabby if I am forced to go to Walmart in the evening. Morning? I might be there but for as short a time as I possibly can.

I used to enjoy shopping much more than I do these days. Sometimes shopping actually gets me down, especially when I am looking for something specific but cannot find it.

Yes. I needed something important. It was not there. Not even a place for it on the shelf.

@lovebuglena I had to do something else to get the thing I needed. It cost more, of course.

@GardenGerty That sucks. I'd be disappointed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks 'fashions' get uglier! I hate shopping anyway. Last time I went, it was a bit of a rush as it was the only time I could do it. I usually try and go when it's quieter - there are always too many people around, though!

I like comfortable soft clothes. Some fabrics may look good, but they make me itch. Also, what I like may not be good for working in. Jeans are good, but I do not like to wear them.

when ya realize that "shop" 'tis a 4-letter word, such makes more sense. i feel fer ya, the supposed 'dults most oft act more unruly than the young'uns. yer correct, more funds fer less quality - seems rampant 'cross the u.s. 't least. i've found clothin' styles most hideous fer quite a few years. coz folks take designers word fer gospel 'n jest keep buyin' that crap.

It is nice to go shopping. Maybe you are tired that's why you said you are already grumpy.
