Laying down sand to destroy it.. A meditation

Tibetan Monks practice a sort of meditation wherein they lay down sand in intricate patterns only to ceremoniously destroy it. The patterns can take days to finish but upon it's completion the monks swipe the sand away.

I guess it's all in the motion of doing it. The therapeutic side of it is in the repetitive motion.

Much like when a chef lovingly slaves for hours in the kitchen to make a five star meal, only for it to be demolished within minutes!
