Another lesson to 'check out' lol

OBetty and I went to the store yesterday... She doesn't drive anymore so when I need to shop I give her a call. We talk and laugh on the way and as soon as we hit the door she goes her way and I go mine and 'meet in the middle' at the check stands. Yesterday I was waiting up front when she finally got to the checkstand and I saw her shopping cart looked a little full, especially of vitamin supplements. She said she wanted to stock up .. I knew she took that stuff but I also knew it was expensive! So when the check-out-lady hit the 'total' button and the numbers $345.00 lit up I said: ' Holy cow, Obetty! I can't take you anywhere!' She rolled her eyes, punched in her PIN for the credit card and said: ' this will last awhile'.. Talk about positive thinking. Did I mention she is 84, only has one eye, and is dyslexic? And one of the toughest ol broads I ever met. She spent her teen years working as a logger in the wood, and her adult life living and working in Los Angeles! I think the vitamins are working! Whenever I feel sorry for myself for anything I think: Shape up, broad... Look at OBetty! Go take a vitamin! lol There are lessons we all need to learn, huh?
