Internet, Cable, Phone Out this Morning

Yes, I was greeted with no phone and no internet this morning. I couldn't believe it. Take anything away from me but please, leave me my internet. I jumped on the phone and called our service and all I could get was the recorded voice. I answered all the questions and they told me they were rebooted from wherever they were and to call back in 20 minutes if it still wasn't working. I couldn't believe it, they were brushing me off. Well, 1/2 hour later when it was still not working I did call them back and finally was put through to the technician. They said they didn't see any problem but would send someone out between 5 and 6 PM. Almost an hour ago I finally had my internet. I could care less about anything else. It started me wondering, would they be so underhanded that they would cause a problem knowing I will be cutting everything but the internet off at the end of the month? Just wondering.

It's blackout here so there's no WIFI. Good thing, I have my mobile data and turned it on instead, so here I am myLotting while taking the moat of not having electricity. And good thing, i have my powerbank ready, in case my phone runs out of battery already.

@HazySue It isn't often. Though when there is a scheduled Preventive Maintenance it is from 8am to 5pm. It is so hot because there's no electricity to ruj the electric fans. Fanning will be manually.

I have Spectrum too but I never heard about internet assist before @HazySue what do they do for you?

@rebelann They make your internet payment cheaper for you. Someone else on our block mentioned it. I called and the next thing you know I had internet for $19.99.

Because I get Internet assist with Spectrum it only cost me $19.00 plus taxes and fees. That will be going up in November.

It will be for us. We pay over $150.00 a month for the tv part of cable. I can use that money better than they can.

@HazySue That is a lot. If that was the price here, I would not be able to pay it. As it is, I have what is called "light TV" that is, not many channels. I´m fine with what I have.

It is very annoying when the internet is off. Well, I have many things to do offline but still, it is annoying. I am glad your internet is back.

We had the same problem with the internet. Our internet and cable and home phone are all bundled together. We use the house phone because sometimes the service at the house is not great.

That's why we got the phone but now the connection problem has been cleared up.

Well that is a bummer, I don't have cable TV but I do have internet from one company and phone with another, like you I can do without the phone but not the internet. I wouldn't guess that they would mess with your service but then again you never know.

I really didn't care about the phone and tv, I have an antenna hooked up to the tv on the screened porch so I could have watched it if I wanted to.

@HazySue oh yea, that is what I have for my TV, the antenna which seems like I get different channels every time I turn it on. I think depending on the wind direction I get different channels that come in. LOL

At least you got your internet back within a day. Here, I would see complaints on twitter of not having an internet for a week to a month and the company's response was just, sorry for the inconvenience, we have addressed the issue to our technical support team. Though it hasn't happened to me, I mean not that long, but it's the usual case I see people complain about their internet provider here.

I'm sure if I was at home right now, my cable and internet would probably be down. We have a tropical storm hitting, so the weather is pretty bad right now. Nothing dangerous, just lots of wind and rain. And silly me, I'm camping in this horrible weather! But on the bright side, my wi-fi hotspot on my phone works just great, and I am able to myLot while sitting in the tent! lol
