There are big problems in the country (and specially in Santiago) and there are many protests in the streets. The President decided that there would be a curfew time (9pm to 7 am ) and people are trying to get to their homes as soon as they can while all sorts of things are happening in the city and many stores closed at noon. I agree with the protests but not of the way they are done. On the other hand, I wonder if the President will make enough changes if nobody protests. Tania will stay here for the night and Claudia ran to her house as soon as I filled a Tupperware with some chicken Do you make plans sometimes that can´t be done because something happens?

It is scary to go out when there is political turmoil that involves the people.

I used to go out in the times of Pinochet. But now I´m old. And there are other ways to do things.

Those protests are usually done for a good reason. But, all too often they are turned into a violent manner.

I absolutely agree with what the people want. But for too long a time they have not had what they need. Now all exploded. And I have no idea how it will end.

@kobesbuddy That is asking for a revolt. Normally, the working class is not violent. But if the rich want to turn them to almost slaves, they have to protest. And I´m for it although I´m not in condition of going anywhere. But I can write my ideas here.

@marguicha In the case of our government, the people are always proven wrong. It's greed, in the higher ups!

My President is from the right wing. Although He would lose votes if he said he likes Trump

I have read about the protesters in your country and the three already killed. Chile is in the first page of all European newspapers today.

I am very much worried. This is the worst since Pinochet came into power. We now have a right wing president. I hope he doesn´t call the military. What Chile needs is a more fair share of the riches of our land. There are few very rich people and too many people that have too little or none.

@marguicha This is what the Italian newspapers are saying, the worst since Pinochet came into power. It is horrible what is happening almost everywhere in the world, scary moment. Stay safe.

Today, in a second day of riots, I am only worried for my eldest granddaughter. She went "to watch" at a place where there were people together. That is not safe.

The change in plans usually happens when there are parades in the streets like in late November for the Bayou Classic football game between Southern University vs Grambling University or the carnival parades in the winter.

I sure hope the protests stop soon so just stay safe. Yes, there have been times when something stops something else from happening like ages ago back in my hometown of NYC we were partying to go out on the street early in the morning to discover there was a full-blown transport strike

I will stay safe and I hope mine will too. But I also hope the government does something to alleviate the problems of the poorest.

I am sorry that you have a curfew due to the protests. I am sure that at some time in my life plans were changed; but I don't remember anything off hand.

Ya and sometimes what I'm expecting to happen... it didn't happen even if there's no changing in plan LOL. In that case, it's okay because you can avoid the bad things to happen especially if you are in way / road but what's not okay is that you have limitation in time to be outside hehe but we can't do something about that because it's an order.
