Rather than getting extra steps in by walking to the cafeteria and getting lost I'm...

Eating in a small cafeteria on the second floor of the cardio vascular building. My husband is near here on the fifth floor.
I didn't eat much on Sunday and tried to get a small fast in. I had a salad yesterday and today.
Today's salad is romaine, egg, cherry tomatoes, bacon, feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Both were very good although I liked yesterday's choice better.
I finally lost one more pound and now am close to where I was last November. I'd have to check my fitness app but I'm sure I wasn't down to this weight very long. I lost thirty pounds five years ago when I first went full time but I gained back half after my first knee surgery. I've been trying to lose that again ever since.
Sometimes I'm not trying very hard as I've gotten several bags of candy corn/pumpkins thus far.
I've been drinking a lot of water but when the room is extra cold I spend a lot of time going back and forth from the bathroom. I'm cold in the room because my husband had a low fever and tends to be hotter than me anyway
I'm hoping to head home tonight for a day but that depends on if and when my husband goes in for surgery.
They were getting him ready this morning too be in the or near eight am but an emergency took our spot and then the plastic surgeon had to go to the main hospital for another patient so now we're waiting again.
One pic on top is a view of the cafeteria the other is the hallway back to where my husband is located. The one with the lid is yesterday's salad and the contents are today's.
I figured it'd take a pic of the hallway because it looks like a rest area and if anyone comes to visit I can show them that so they know where to go.

I will be surprised if he'll be able to return home any time soon. I expect they will transport him to one of the many rehab facilities in our area until it's healed more.
He can't sit as that would put pressure on the area and I'd think it would take some time for it to heal enough for him to sit or walk.

@DianneN I've been here since Sunday evening when he was in surgery already. I hope to hear back before dark tonight. If I can at least get in the hwy I'm familiar with before dark that would be best.
If he's stable and it doesn't rain we may work a few jobs tomorrow. I needed to contact the sec at work. I may have gotten clearance already for FMLA relating to good health and if so I want too see my options.
I should work some though if I also hope to do the businesses but I don't work again until Fri after lunch. At present I'm considering coming back tomorrow night or Thurs morning and working Fri unless I am covered with the FMLA.
I need to do a small bit of laundry for him and he wants me to buy loose fitting sweat pants. I may be able to get this at work or I may need to go shopping.
Five years ago he was here a week and I was here for the one surgery and stayed overnight and returned on a day off. So I didn't stay non-stop.

@MarshaMusselman I’m sure he has much more to go through. Poor man. Are you staying nearby or making the long drive every day?

Waiting for the second surgery which will be to close the wound unless it's got an infection and then they may wait.
I'll need to read again what I wrote to see if there's something I can share that I didn't before.

He only hurts where they used the muscle from his chest. The groin area want hurting him yesterday and maybe never will.

He's out of the would anyway. It will be a long haul until he's fully healed. His staples go down from his chest to where his leg meets the groin. Those might come out on a week but he will have to return to the hospital that did the surgery.

@MarshaMusselman I hope this takes care of the issue and it doesn't return. I'm sure those staples are uncomfortable. I'm glad he's out of the woods.

Thanks Paige. A stint was out into the artery so that's taken care of but even once they remove the staples it could take longer for the incisions to heal completely. He's hoping he can put on his leg soon. Right now that, too, it's a bit swollen.

I hope that too. Otherwise I may be driving after dark which I can manage but that's not my preference.

I bought a sweet dumpling squash last week. I can't remember whether I already ate the other half. I will have to check once I'm home.

He had surgery on Sunday night that removed a congealed mass of blood that had seeped over time from the artery in his leg. A stent was also put into that same artery to stop the leak. The wound was packed but not closed up. This next surgery will be too close the wound if possible. If necessary muscle will be taken from his leg or stomach.

Those look pretty good to me. I send healing thoughts to your husband and hope the surgery is a success!

It's too close a hole left from the surgery performed two days ago. It may be an easy close but if not they will use muscle from his stomach or leg. It if there's an infection inside they may leave it open until it drains.
