"The Devil Wears Prada" is a comedy-drama that was released in 2006. There were mostly positive reviews for this movie and many award nominations and several wins, including Best Actress for Meryl Streep. It was extremely successful at the box office with a budget of $35 million and box office receipts of $326.5 million. CAST Meryl Streep - Miranda Priestly Anne Hathaway - Andrea "Andy" Sachs Emily Blunt - Emily Charlton Stanley Tucci - Nigel Kipling Simon Baker - Christian Thompson Adrian Grenier - Nate Cooper Gisele Bundchen - Serena Tracie Thoms - Lily Rich Sommer - Doug Daniel Sunjata - James Holt Andy Sachs just graduated from Northwestern University and is an aspiring journalist. She is hired as a Junior Personal Assistant to Editor-in-Chief of Runway Magazine, Miranda Priestly. Andy has heard that if she tolerates for a year the demands and the humiliation that Priestly is known to dish out, that she will have her pick of jobs...possibly even a reporter's position, her plum job. Every morning Miranda throws her coat on Andy's desk. Then she starts rattling off lists of things to do. At first Andy is overwhelmed and not dressed for the part. Senior Assistant Emily is condescending towards her and doesn't think she'll ever make it. Gradually, though, Andy starts to handle her job with more finesse; and Nigel, the Art Director, turns her on to the perks of the job... Free clothes!...and he helps her put together outfits which Miranda starts to notice. She also meets an attractive writer, Christian Thompson, who offers to help her with her career. Miranda calls Andy at any hour; and she is expected to answer her phone and do her bidding. This is starting to wear thin on Andy's live-in boyfriend, Nate, a chef, and her other friends that she doesn't have time to see. Needless to say there's a lot more that will happen in this movie; but you will have to watch it to find out! I enjoyed this movie very much; and I think you will too. Streep plays the vicious Priestly very well; and Hathaway has her character pegged too. I think that this is a fresh idea executed very well; and I recommend this movie. This movie is rated PG-13.
