Have you ever looked at a pumpkin and though "I sure would like to throw that."
Don't answer, I already know, of course you have!
Well, bemoan no further as you can now chuck a pumpkin yourself.
Do you own a slingshot, a catapult, a centrifugal, trebuchet or pneumatic cannon?
If so then you too can enjoy the sport of pumpkin chucking.
There are contests held annually across the US.
Delaware began theirs as far back as 1986 and they were the first to begin the sport.
You can attend events in Delaware, New York, or Pennsylvania just to name a few.

I live in Pennsylvania and didn't know there are pumpkin chucking events. Sound like fun

It does sound like fun, but I also can't help but all of those pumpkins that could be used for soups and desserts instead.

@ScribbledAdNauseum true but maybe they use them for food for farm animals?

Me neither until I found out about it today. It seems a silly sport. I read somewhere else yesterday that anything can be considered a sport.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Really? Anything? Maybe opening soda cans can be considered a sport.

@dya80dya I can't recall what all it said, I only read a headline on one of the places where I find this info. The headline was referring to within Britain i think, but I am not sure.

You can grab a small pumpkin and heave it.

True, and it would be less effort than all that other stuff.

Oh how interesting and sounds like a lot of fun and messy too.

Definitely very messy. I think it's somewhat silly to grow pumpkins for the sole purpose of chucking them, which i think must happen at these events.
