My eating habits have changed with time.

I remember that when I was young I ate a lot more and specially a lot more red meat.
When I was a child, chicken were raised in another way. The hens (not chicken) were tough and they were made into soups and stews that were delicious.
We ate more red meat, more fish and every now and then a roasted piece of lamb.
Now my eating habits have changed. I eat a lot less and several times a week my meals only have legumes or veggies. I have learned to steam the vegetables when cooked and they are not bland as the ones I did not like as a girl. And when I eat red meat, I buy the best there is. I will not eat a lot, but it has to be top in quality.
How about you, friends? Have your eating habits changed over the years?

Me too. When we talk about food with Leticia, we realize that now we eat like birds as compared to what we used to eat.

@JudyEv I remember once, in Spain, we went to a restaurant in the hotel where we were staying. There were some young people and I was shocked at their plates.

@marguicha When we go to a buffet sometimes, we have to remember now to stare at how much some people can eat!

My body tells me when not to eat more. And it is a lot less than before. And I eat a lot less meat.

@marguicha So do we. I can still eat a lot, but I stay away from sugar, GMOs, boxed products, additives, etc.

It changes as we grow older and become conscious of our health.

I think it is good to change up things over time, fitting to really what you need and want. For a while we were only eating just poultry, but I realized that was making my mom stressed out so we do eat red meat from time to time but it still isn't as much as it was when I was little.

@marguicha It is good to only have it once in a while, it isn't good to have constantly anyway.

I was extremely picky when I was a child. I hardly ate anything...but then my mother was a bad cook too. Now I eat a lot more and have chicken 95% of the time. I can't remember the last time I ate red meat.

I was picky too when I was a child. But I discovered later than it was my mother´s maid who was the bad cook. When I was 11 we went to the US for a year and a half and my mother had to cook. From that time on, I love to eat. But not in great quantities; rather in great quality.

@LindaOHio Home cooking is a lot better and cheaper. You would have to go to a very expensive restaurant to eat as well as you eat at home if you learn to cook the basics.
