so, when I grabbed a pole, they told me no!

The trout pond inside of the LL Bean Store. They told me, right as I walked up with a fishing pole that you are not allowed to fish there.
Then why have a trout pond inside a fishing store?
Plus i later realised it was really a Koi pond, no trout.
Oh well!
Do you like to go fishing?

@DocAndersen Great to hear!
My grandson seems to be on the same path as you, your father, and grandfather. He loves fishing, too. Actually, so does my granddaughter.

I used to fish a lot with my husband; but we haven't gone in eons. He goes once and a while by himself and fishes in a local pond.

I think you would have had to drag both of them out of the LL Bean fishing area in the store!

I spent many a summer day with pole in hand sitting on the bank of a river, a lake or even a golf course. But, as life became hectic and family grew, it is something that I let slide away. I have not held a fishing pole in probably thirty five years. I don't think I have the patience for it any more.

@DocAndersen I suppose it might be fun at that, I could always do a catch and release, I don't eat fish any more.

We fished when I was a kid, but I never developed an interest in it. Plus, I’m allergic to fish.
