Maybe we should have an earthquake drill here

I wonder why we haven't had any kind of Earth quake seminar in this neighborhood.
Most specially with the recent Earth quake in the South yet again and this time it cause a lot of building. And some just can't be occupied anymore by students.
Hope God would be merciful and doesn't happen here, were already broke as it is this month..
But this is Mother nature and we can only be prepare...

Earthquake is an act of God. I believe in that not literally but it means no matter the drill you do the damage will always depend on the magnitude or intensity.

Hello @Alexandoy But why recently? Just because the President is from the South? Sometimes I think some one's using a secret weapon out there to cause an earthquake. But then, we are in the Ring of Fire so this is expected.

Drills can actually do so much in real situation like this people would still act on their impulse and would panic. Casualties cannot be avoided especially when this happens on early morning where most people are already out and busy with their lives. This is the worse that can happen in an Eartquake when everyone is out since the families are already separated and it would be hard to connect with them during emergencies.

@Letranknight2015 I think it is expected to have such. It is sad but I think it is an unavoidable consequence for having that calamity. I just hope that these tremors would finally stop and they can go back to their normal lives once again.

Such drill can help a little, but people tend to panic and run for safety in such strong quakes.

It's a high magnitude and intensity. That is quite capable of too much of damage. It's alarming. If that kind of magnitude there would be definitely few aftershocks. Stay safe. Prayers for your family.

Hello @arunima25 Thank you for the prayers. This is such a scary event for the people there, but they should do the drills to be ready at least. I've heard some of them actually fainted on the quake itself.

Isn't there pop out an emergent news on TV previously? I heard that the emergent news will pop out on TV in advanced the earthquake, thus people have limited time to escape out.
