Day 87 Promise 117 1 Kings 6:11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying, 12 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spoke unto David thy father: 13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel. 14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it. Most promises have conditions. If you do something, then something will be done for you. God also made conditional promises. He wanted the person to know He would keep His promise if they did what He asked them. God told Solomon He would be with the children of Israel if he walked in the statutes, commandments, and laws He gave Moses. Then He would dwell with Israel and never forsake them. If/then promises. Do you make them? Do you keep them when the person does what you stipulated? One of the best-known, if/then promises God gave Solomon occurred after he finished building the temple. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (KJV) As Christians, you have a part to play in God’s promises. If you obey, then He will take care of you. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will fight battles for you, and go before you into the battle with your enemy, Satan. There is nothing God won’t do for you if you obey Him and walk in His ways. Let’s pray: Father, help me obey You and walk in Your ways so that You will take care of me all my days as You promised. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. That's right. If we keep God's commandments we have the promised blessings but if we don't nada.
