Hospice Thinks my Uncle had a Mini-Stroke

My sweet uncle I talk to every day has had, what the hospice nurse thinks, a mini-stroke last night. The nurse that sits with him called me last night and said he seemed a little more confused than normal. Then he started having problems talking.
Today is the day when the Hospice nurse visits. His blood pressure is up for the first time and he continues struggling this morning with his speech. The nurse thinks it may have been caused by his blood pressure.
Hard to know without a CT scan. His late wife's daughter makes all the decisions. She decided not to have him seen at a hospital. Nothing I can do but wait now and see how this plays out.
Amazing at 90 years old he has not had to take blood pressure medication. But he will start a low dose medication today to see if this will help his speech. I hope he does ok over the weekend without his nurse that stays during the week. Someone will be there to call if he needs help.
Difficult to be so far away and get this news. I will call him later and hope he can talk to me.

I can't believe that he will not be seen at the hospital. I hope he improves or he will be depressed. Let us know how he is when you talk to him.

what?? if'n he'd a mini-stroke, he should'a been given a blood thinner immediately to keep the side 'ffects 'f such to a minimum. i know, not'cher call, hon. i 'nderstand that perhaps his daughter felt such'd been diff'cult fer him. i know he's the desire to leave this earth, but would be nice if'n he did such without pain :(

@CarolDM i hear ya, hon. reminds me 'f a sweet lady i tended some years 'go. she lived to be 103. the doc's knew she'd 've troubles, yet they figured with her age ('t the time 98) they chose to not intervene, nor tell her. she 'twas 'f sound mind 'n ought'a been told. i carry that guilt to this day. she's a horrific stroke which left her with much pain 'n 'nly lasted 3 weeks 'fterwards. all 'f which could'a been 'voided. my concerns fell'n deaf ears 'n cold hearts.
glad he sounded better the other day, hon. ah, step young'uns...perhaps 'twas like my sweet lady'n all her kin saw 'twas $$ fer when she passed.

@crazyhorseladycx That is too bad. My uncle seems better for today. I understand about the money. I just want him here and to be able to talk to him, money or not.

@CarolDM it's not easy having elderly relatives far away and you can't help.

If he is on hospice I can understand her decision. I am sure it was a hard one anyways. Hope the medication helps.
