Anna Coleman is a typical 15-year-old who is an aspiring musician. She lives with her widowed mother, Tess, and younger brother, Harry. Tess is preparing to marry her fiance, Ryan Volvo; but Anna is not totally on board yet. Anna's band, Pink Slip, is scheduled to audition at the House of Blues. Anna's English teacher, Mr. Bates, is unfairly giving her "Fs" on her assignments; and Tess disapproves of Anna's crush on an older student, Jake. And that's not all! Anna received detentions twice in one day...for talking back to Mr. Bates and for intentionally hitting Stacey Hinkhouse on the head with a volleyball during gym.
The Colemans go out to eat at a Chinese restaurant, Pei-Pei's. Anna begins to beg Tess to let her go audition at the House of Blues; but the wedding rehearsal is scheduled for the same day. Anna and Tess begin arguing again until Pei'-Pei's mother interrupts to give them fortune cookies. Tess and Anna experience what feels to them like an earthquake; but no one else in the restaurant feels it.
The next morning Tess and Anna wake up in each other's body.
If you want to see what happens, you will have to watch the movie. This is your very typical "switch bodies" scenario. For me, I thought that it was geared more toward the teenage audience. Jamie Lee and Lindsay received accolades for their performances. With the exception that I think that this is for younger audiences, I give this movie my recommendation.
This movie is rated PG.
